Gourmet Yoga COVID-19 Policy

Published 01/07/2020

Our priority is the health and safety of you, ourselves and the community.

We’re taking every precaution to keep you safe. We’re staying up to date with the latest research, guidelines and recommendations to ensure we’re doing everything within our control to provide a safe and hygienic environment.

When you are our guest at an event, we ask that you respect and adhere to the guidelines and bear with us as national and state regulations change and we adjust accordingly.

If you are feeling unwell on the day of an event, please don’t attend.

Get in touch with us, we’ll be happy to transfer your booking to a future event.

We have been finding wonderful venues for our upcoming events.

In our research, we’ve found locations that are beautiful and, importantly, large enough to provide more than the recommended space for each guest.

We will clean all surfaces in the space on the day, including any props we bring into the space. There will be hand sanitiser available and we ask everyone to use this upon arrival.

Yoga equipment and props

Research to date suggests that the risk of transmission of COVID-19 via fabrics is very low.

Although research is ongoing, the infectiousness of the virus that causes COVID-19 has been seen to deteriorate very quickly in the environment, especially on soft surfaces like fabrics.

In order for us to provide the highest levels of hygiene, when you join us, we ask you to bring:

  • Your own yoga mat.

  • A blanket and a towel to cover the props we will provide.

  • Your own (washable) eye mask, like a silk scarf.

We will ensure there is at least 1.5m between mats.

Food and drink

Food handling hygiene is always paramount with Gourmet Yoga.

All our crockery, cutlery and glassware is washed in a high-temperature dishwashing cycle and handled with gloved hands.

Currently, there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with food. So the biggest consideration at Gourmet Yoga events is ensuring that we can maintain physical distancing during the serving and consuming of food and drink.

At our events we’ll serve all food and drink so that no direct handling occurs.

During events, we’ll invite people to be served one at a time, or with members of their household.

We’ll also set up the space so we can sit and talk over afternoon tea whilst maintaining suitable physical distance from one another.

Our policy will be updated periodically as new guidelines, information and research becomes available.
